How affiliate links are marked

Affiliate links on PontoonHQ are marked with rel="nofollow noopener sponsored" attributes in accordance with Google's guidelines. "Check price on Amazon" buttons, "Buy at West Marine" buttons, and similar calls to action are affiliate links.

How affiliate revenue affects our content

It doesn't. Our editorial rankings, brand scores, and gear recommendations are determined independently of affiliate relationships. We have recommended products with lower commission rates over higher-commission alternatives many times — because the lower-commission product was genuinely better.

Brands and manufacturers cannot pay to improve their ranking in our comparison tools or brand matrix. Sponsored listings in our dealer directory are clearly labeled as such.

• Amazon Associates — Amazon.com affiliate program. We earn 3–8% commission on qualifying purchases depending on product category.
• West Marine — Marine supplies affiliate program.
• iBoats — Marine parts and accessories.

In accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), PontoonHQ discloses its affiliate relationships. We believe our content would not change if we received no affiliate compensation — but we disclose it regardless, because transparency is non-negotiable.
